Alta Alella Gran Reserva 'Mirgin' 2018                           $24

Alta Alella is a family-run project which started more than twenty years ago by the enologist Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and his wife, Cristina Guillen. The vineyard and winery are within the agricultural area of a natural park known as the “Serralada de Marina" just a stone's throw from the Mediterranean Sea, which definitely plays a part in their wines' character.

A vintage Cava from 2018 made from organic grapes of the classic three Cava varietals. Alta Alella's "signature" sea air salinity-mineral notes are there, but the age gives this wine deeper, toasty notes as well. Surprisingly complex and serious in nature.

Macabeo / Xarello / Parellada from Penedés, Spain
